Hi, my name is Olivia Laine Duncan. I was raised in Madison County Georgia. I was raised to push myself to be the best that I can be. I have four sisters all older than I am, so I was raised to be tough and defend myself. I don’t think that I wouldn’t be remotely close to my dreams without my family and friends. I am strongly involved with FCA and the relay for life. My mother is a four year survivor of breast cancer, so we are really involved with the relay for life. I have huge dreams to go to college to become a softball player and pursue my education, and then come back to Madison County to teach and hopefully to become the coach for Madison County Red Raiders.
Other than softball I used to play football and basketball. I played football for four years at our recreation department. I was the quarterback for our team. It was cool experience because the first year I played I was picked last to be on a team because I was a girl, but the next year I was one of the first ones to be put on a team. But with football came injuries, and I got a neck injury so I had to quit.(But I’m 100% now) I have focused my whole life on getting a scholarship to a big school, and furthering my education. I would love to go to a big university or a good school that I could work that much harder to become the best athlete that I can be and a good person.
I played for the North Georgia Fury for six years and this year I am going to play with the Georgia Fire Campbell 16u. My seventh and eighth grade year I was the starting catcher for our middle school team. We were region champions both years. I was a starter freshman on our varsity team for our high school. I was the starting second baseman. My sophomore year I also was the starting second baseman. Both my freshman and sophomore year I was on the first team all region team. My junior year I am aiming towards being our starting catcher. I can pretty much play the whole field. My dad pushed me when I was younger to have experience from all of the positions. I can play third base, short stop, second base, catcher, and center field. I like that I can play all sorts of positions on the ball field. It gives people different options to put me in the field. Softball is my passion and my life. I love how the game is set up, and I am a huge competitor. College softball is a huge goal in my life. I am looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you for taking your time to look at me.
Thanks,
Olivia Duncan
