Personal Highlights

My name is Mackenzie Adams. I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old, and I am currently a junior in high school. I play center mid, but I can play outside mid as a secondary position. I am a smart player on the field and can always put the ball on a forward's foot. I have good ball and spatial awareness, and I am very good attacking offensively in the box. I have good footwork, passing, receiving, and I can shoot well. My shooting range is large as I can shoot and score from around 25 yards out. I am very athletic, and I have good endurance, but most importantly I am coachable. I start most of my games and play for a good amount of time, usually about 65 minutes of the 80. To add, I am a good leader, and I always want my teammates to succeed as well as myself. I also perform well in the classroom. I have been in honors classes since 6th grade, and I am currently taking two AP classes. I love math and science, for I would eventually like to pursue a career in medicine. I have a 4.2 weighted and 4.0 unweighted GPA. I am ranked 11 of 504 in my class as well. I recently earned an Academic Varsity Letter as well. I participate in DECA at Arapahoe High School, and take art classes outside of school, specifically drawing. I also babysit for two different families, as well as do volunteer work at the Santa Clause Shop around the holidays. I am a hardworking athlete, student, and person, and I am excited for what the future holds.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.
Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.
Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am involved in National Honor Society, which is a service based program. I also volunteer at the "Santa Clause Shop". Around the holidays, parents from low income families come to the Santa Clause Shop and select gifts for their children under a point system. They receive a certain amount of points based on their income, and then are able to buy toys at different point prices. This is really important to me because I have always been very fortunate in my life. I have never had to worry about not having gifts under the Christmas Tree, or even what many of these families struggle with, having food on the table. I love seeing the parents come in and helping them pick out the perfect gifts for their children. They are always the kindest people when they have every reason not to be, and this is something I look forward to every year. I have also volunteered through my church as well.
