Complete List of Division 2 Hockey Colleges
The motto of NCAA Division 2 athletes is “I choose Division 2.” With over 22 DII schools competing in ice hockey there are a lot of athletes that choose to play at this level. Most student athletes at this level have the ability to compete at the D1 level, but choose a D2 schools for a better academic, athletic or social fit. While these schools tend to be small or medium size schools, there are some larger D2 schools as well.
NCAA DII Ice Hockey Scholarships
All division 2 colleges can offer what are called equivalency scholarships. This means a hockey coach can divide up a single scholarship among multiple athletes on the team. This is why it is more common for D2 ice hockey athletes to get partial scholarships and not the full-ride scholarships you need in head-count sports.
